Statute of the National Association of the Playing Cities (GioNa)

Introduction

Playing is “an activity by itself very pleasant which does not need any other aim than itself”, in the words of Kant (from his Critique of Judgement).

Even if maybe it is not enough to define completely the thousands forms of playing, this sentence at least defines the necessary principle: which other characteristic to add in order to obtain even a sufficient principle. Since many decades the debate is serious, harsh, passionate, interminable.

An Association of “playing cities” was not born in order to close this debate, but – in the firm belief that “playing” is an extraordinary and splendid activity of human beings and other animals, which is both for men and women, since they are young, a basic experience of personal and cultural growth – it wants to work in order to allow to play more and in the best way, in many ways, ancient and modern.
